It’s another hot one out there! With all the heat waves we’ve been having, I wanted to make sure everyone knows how to stay safe and healthy. With so much heat and humidity, we’re all at risk of heat-related illnesses.
Heat Illness Chart
This chart from the CDC shows the different signs and symptoms of different heat-related illnesses including sunburns, heat cramps, heat exhaustion and heat stroke. It also gives you tips on what to do if these symptoms appear in you or one of your loved ones!
It’s important to try and avoid these illnesses as they can be quite serious. Here are some prevention tips!
- STAY HYDRATED
- WEAR SUNSCREEN AND REAPPLY!
- WEAR A HAT
- WEAR LIGHT COLOURED CLOTHING
- FIND SHADE WHEN YOU CAN
- TAKE BREAKS FROM THE SUN
- EAT WELL-BALANCED MEALS AND SNACKS TO MAKE SURE YOU’RE GETTING ALL YOUR PROPER NUTRIENTS AND ELECTROLYTES
I hope everyone has a safe, cool and fun summer! We look forward to seeing you in the clinic!
